Abstract:The purpose of this study was to develop the Online Prosocial Behavior Scale and to testits reliability and validity among college students. Totally 1300 college students weretested with the Online Prosocial Behavior Scale and the criterion scales. After 4 weeks, 205 of them were retested. The results showed that the Online Prosocial Behavior Scale consisted of 16 items and its construct validity, external validity, predictive validity, convergent and discriminant validity were good. The value of Cronbach’s α coefficient and re-test reliability were both greater than 0.70. Therefore, the scale has good validity and reliability, which can be a useful tool to evaluate individual online prosocial behavior.
