Abstract:The present study investigated the mediating role of rumination and bedtime procrastination in the relationship between self-control and sleep quality. A sample of 1104 college students completed the questionnaires. The results indicated that: 1) self-control significantly predicted sleep quality, rumination and bedtime procrastination, 2) self-control had a direct impact on sleep quality; rumination and bedtime procrastination mediated the predictive effect of self-control on sleep quality separately. In addition, rumination and bedtime procrastination sequentially mediated the relation between self-control and sleep quality.
