Effect of empathy on behaviors of different roles in cyberbullying

Abstract:Cyberbullying has become a common issue among adolescents. Empathy is a prosocial personality,
and it can predict cyberbullying effectively. Empathy influences different roles in cyberbullying, such as
cyber bullies, cyber victims and cyber bystander., so as to influence the direction and scope of cyberbullying.
And ognitive empathy and emotional empathy play different roles in cyberbullying. At present, the research
which focuses on the effect of empathy on behaviors of different roles in cyberbullying has some deficiencies.
In future studies, diverse methods shall be combined to achieve deeper exploration and comprehensive thought.
Meanwhile more solid theory construction should be built to provide better guidance for the prevention and
intervention of cyberbullying.
